【摘要】:Thisguideisintendedforusebyemployeesoftheenduser,suchassafetypersonnelorprogramadministrators,whohavechosentoimplementahomelaunderedflame,thermalorarcresistantclothingprogram.Thisguidedescribesthekeycomponentsinvolvedinthehomecareandmaintenanceofflame,thermal,andarcresistantclothing.Thedecisiontohomelaunderflame,thermalandarcresistantclothingispartofanoverallhazardanalysis.Itshouldincludethenatureofthehazard,thesoilsandanychemicalspresentintheworkplace.Requirementsmayexistthatrequireworkappareltobecleanedprofessionallyduetotheriskofcontaminationofthehomeorwastewatercausedbythewearerx2019;sonthejobexposure.Theguideprovidestheenduserassistancetodeveloplaunderingmethodsthatwillcleanthegarmentandmaintaintheflame,thermal,andarcresistantcharacteristicsoftheclothingduringitsusefulservicelife.Theguidealsoprovidessuggestionsforincreasingthewearlife,appearanceandfunctionoftheclothing.Theguidealsoprovidessuggestionsastowhenflame,thermal,andarcresistantgarmentsshouldberemovedfromservice.1.1Thisguideprovidesrecommendationsforhomelaunderingofclothingthatisflame,thermal,andarcresistant.1.1.1Thisguidedoesnotapplytodrycleaningofflame,thermal,andarcresistantclothing.Formoreinformationondrycleaning,followlabelinstructionsorcontactyourgarmentsupplierorfabricmanufacturer.1.1.2Thisguidedoesnotapplytoindustriallaunderingofflame,thermal,andarcresistantclothing.Formoreinformationonindustriallaundering,followGuideF1449orcontactyourgarmentsupplier.1.2Whengarmentsarelaunderedproperly,usingtheproperdetergent,homelaunderingisaneffectivecleaningprocess.1.3Itisimportantthatpotentiallyflammablecontaminantsareremovedfromgarmentsduringthewashprocess.Ifflammablecontaminantsarenotremoved,theflameresistanceofthegarmentmaybecompromised.1.3.1Toreducethepotentialofemployeeswearinggarmentscontaminatedwithflammablesubstances,theendusershouldanalyzethesoilconditionstowhichaworkermaybeexposed,alongwiththeeffectivenessofthewashprocedure.Intheeventhomelaunderingisdeemedineffective,alternativesolutionsshouldbepursued(drycleaning,industriallaundering,disposableFRcoveralls,etc.).1.4Certainlaundrychemicalsthatmayhaveanadverseeffectonfabricflameresistanceareidentifiedinthisguideandshouldnotbeused.1.5Thisguidedoesnotapplytospecializedprotectivegarmentssuchasspecializedfirefighterturnoutgearandproximityfirefighterensembles.1.6Thisguidealsoprovidesrecommendationsforinspectioncriteriathataresignificanttotheperformanceofflame,thermal,andarcresistantclothing.
