【摘要】:Comparisonofbrakehorsepowerdevelopedandofspecificfuelconsumptionratesfromenginetoenginemaybemadebyuseofdatabaseduponastandardforcompositionofanengineassembly.Thepurchaseroftheengineassemblywillbefullyadvisedoftheminimumscopeofassemblywhichthepurchasermayrightfullyexpecttobeencompassedbyaresponsetoarequestforquotationandtobedeliveredinresponsetoapurchaseorderunlesstheenginebuilderintheproposalorintheoffertosellhasclearlyadvisedotherwise.Itwillbemadeapparenttothepurchaserthatadditionalauxiliaryandaccessoryequipmentwillbeneededtosupplementthedefinedengineassemblywhenfullconsiderationisgiventotheapplicationoftheengineassemblyasaprimemoverinaspecificvessel.1.1Thisguidecoversperformanceandminimumscopeofassemblyofallmediumspeedmarinedieselenginesintendedformainpropulsionofsingleormultiplescrewpropelledmarinevesselsorforvesselsusingotherthanscrewpropeller-typemainpropulsion.1.2Thisguideisintendedtosupplementtheregulationsoflegallyconstitutedregulatingauthorities.Intheeventofanyconflict,whichmaybecomeapparentafterpublicationofthisguide,withsuchlegallyconstitutedregulations,thelattershalltakeprecedence,asmaybeapplicablewithinthejurisdictionofsuchauthoritiesandspecifictoeachcase,unlesssuchlatterregulationsareformallywaivedbypropercognizantauthority.1.3Thisguideisnotintendedtorelievethepurchaseroftheobligationfullytoadvisetheenginebuilderofallofthepurchaser''suniqueoperationalconsiderationstoallowthoseconsiderationstobesatisfied.
