【摘要】:Thistestmethoddeterminesthebendingresistanceofpaper,paperboard,andotherflexibleflat-sheetmaterialsbymeasuringtheforcerequiredtobendaspecimenundercontrolledconditions.Theinstrumentdescribedallowsforawidevariationinspecimenlength,widthandappliedforce.Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforsoft,limporcrepedmaterials.Materialssuchastissueortowelingwouldnotnormallybetestedbythisprocedureandmaterialswithapronounceddegreeofcurlwouldgiveerroneousresults.Productswithabendingresistancebelow1.39GurleyUnits(orproductsnotabletogiveadeflectionbetween1and7onthescalewhenusingthelightestweight)shouldnotbetestedbythisprocedure.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
